How does the GSMA eUICC Identity Scheme work?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Every eSIM is required to have a unique, persistent and secure eID number to identify an embedded or removable eUICC (the eSIM\u2019s chip) \u2013 as defined by the GSMA eSIM Working Group in the SGP.29 standard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GSMA is the industry appointed First Level eID Assignment Authority, responsible for coordinating the issuance and use of the eUICC identification numbers.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Providing the first 6 digits of the eID<\/strong> 
This means the GSMA eUICC Identity Scheme gives each eUICC manufacturer the 6-digit identity code that forms the first part of the 32-digit eID, as shown below. This 6-digit code can be applied to billions of eSIM devices. <\/p>\n\n\n
