Jade Nester

As Director, Consumer Policy, at GSMA, Jade focuses on privacy and data protection, focusing particularly on privacy issues related to cross-border data transfers, big data, the Internet of Things, and children’s privacy. Prior to joining GSMA, Jade advised clients on compliance with privacy and data protection laws and regulations at the London office of Promontory Financial Group, an IBM Company. Jade served as Senior Advisor for Internet Policy at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration/U.S. Department of Commerce. Jade previously served as Director of Internet Public Policy at the State Department and as head of the U.S. delegation to the OECD’s working party on information security and privacy.
